Daniel Fritz Silvallana is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at Davao del Norte State College, Philippines, where he teaches undergraduate courses. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Media and Communication at the School of Communication and Creative Arts, Deakin University, Australia. Additionally, he works as a Casual Sessional Academic at Deakin University, primarily teaching postgraduate courses such as communication research methods and communication concepts. His research interests include health communication, climate change communication, and the emotional turn in journalism. Daniel employs a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods such as content analysis in newspaper/digital media texts and ethnography research in newsrooms. He published his works in peer-reviewed journals such as Plaridel Journal of Communication, Media, and Society, Journalism and Media, International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning.
